「Puspa」
人生の不完全さの中に咲く、美しさと幸福

私は「Puspa」というキャラクターを、人生のもっとも暗い瞬間の中にも咲く幸福の象徴として生み出しました。

かつて私は、高収入や持ち家、車、贅沢な暮らしといった、社会が定める「成功」の基準に縛られていました。
本業に加え、副業でも働き続ける日々の中で、景気の悪化や将来への不安、そして父親になる責任を前に、心は深く沈んでいました。

そんなある日、バンコクの渋滞した交差点で、花輪を売る一人の少女の姿が目に留まりました。
何度断られても笑顔を失わない彼女の姿に、私は「本当の幸せは完璧さや他人の基準の中にあるのではなく、今ここにある自分の人生を受け入れることの中にある」と気づかされたのです。

アーティストとしての道を歩み始めたとき、私はその記憶を「Puspa」という存在へと形にしました。
花輪を手にし、蓮の花のような髪を持つ少女。
仏教において蓮は知恵や悟りの象徴です。
私にとってPuspaは、暗い日々の中で心に光をもたらしてくれた、希望と気づきの象徴なのです。

Beauty and Happiness Amidst Life’s Imperfections

I created the character “Puspa” as a symbol of happiness that can still bloom even in the darkest moments of life.

There was a time when I felt trapped by society’s definition of success, one shaped by high income, material possessions, and a luxurious lifestyle. While balancing my full-time job and side work, I became overwhelmed by financial pressure, uncertainty, and the responsibility of becoming a father.

One day, while sitting on a bus in Bangkok’s heavy traffic and smog, I noticed a young girl selling flower garlands at a crowded intersection. Even though she was rejected again and again, her bright smile never faded. In that moment, I realized that true happiness does not have to be perfect or measured by anyone else’s standards. It can be found simply by embracing who we are and what we have in the present.

When I began my journey as an artist, I transformed that memory into “Puspa”: a young girl holding a flower garland, with hair shaped like a lotus. In Buddhist philosophy, the lotus symbolizes wisdom and enlightenment. To me, Puspa represents hope, inner light, and the quiet beauty that can emerge even in imperfect moments.
