Description:
Jimi Hendrix moved to the UK in 1966, and just before he achieved success as The Jimi Hendrix Experience, he performed live in New York City as "Curtis Knight's sideman" rather than as "Jimi Hendrix" in December 1965 and January 1966. The recordings were recorded live in December 1965 and January 1966, when Jimi was not performing as "Jimi Hendrix" but as "Curtis Knight's sideman" in New York, and were revived by longtime engineer Eddie Clymer in cooperation with Jimi's official boot label, Dagger Records. This is a performance from just a few months before he was discovered by Chas Chandler (Animals) in New York and launched his career as a great guitarist, and it shows the outpouring of talent that drew Chas Chandler in on first listen. This is a raw, early performance with no overdubs or manipulation.
