Hatfield & The North
Description:
Canterbury music is unique in the progressive rock scene. Hatfield and the North, formed by members of four of the leading bands of that sound (Caravan, Gong, Matching Mowl, and Egg), is truly a super band of Canterbury music. The band signed with the upstart Virgin Records label and released their debut album "Hatfield and the North" in 1974. The live archive released this time was recorded at the following three venues. (1) March 29 in Holland/recorded for a Dutch radio program (2) April 24 in Birmingham/recorded for a BBC radio program (3) November 21 at BBC Studios in London/recorded for the John Peel Session. The release includes the best possible remastering of the recordings to date, thanks to the discovery of the sub-masters for each broadcast. Each performance is a medley of songs from their debut album, songs from their second album "Rotter's Club" to be released in 1975, and unreleased songs from their live performances that were not included on the album. This rare live archive of the band, which was active for only two years, is a long-awaited release for fans! Imported domestic specs
