Artur Rubinstein
Description:
Brahms' Second Symphony is one of Rubinstein's eighteenth repertoire, and he made four recordings of it during his lifetime. This disc was recorded in 1958 with the Viennese master Joseph Klips, and is the third and first stereo recording following the Coates-London Symphony Orchestra SP recording and the Munsch-Boston Symphony Orchestra monaural recording. The RCA Victor Symphony Orchestra is a recording orchestra made up of the New York Philharmonic, the Metropolitan Opera, and other orchestras, as well as skilled freelance players living in New York City. It is one of the best Living Stereo recordings. (C)RS
