Leaf Babe Ruth — a postwar Leaf gum card pulled from the 1948-49 set, catching the Bambino in the late twilight of his myth, when the swing had already passed into folklore. The printing is loud and a little crude, all hot inks and hasty registration, exactly the way America remembered him: oversized, unsubtle, impossible to look away from.
