The latest work by Jill Barber, whose distinctive sweet voice has crossed genres from jazz to chanson to folk to pop, is a return to her early folky style reminiscent of her acclaimed debut Oh Heart and the Juno Award-winning For All Time For All Time", which won a Juno Award. Jill also produced the album for the first time with Erik Nielsen, and sings backed by some of Canada's top players. The album features 10 soothing original songs, including the title track, about women's rights, life, and identity. After graduation, Jill began her career as a professional singer, releasing "A Note To Follow So" in 2002, followed by her 2004 EP "Oh Heart" which garnered much attention, and her second EP "For All Time" in 2006. He then toured with Dan Hill and other leading Canadian artists, and in 2008 released the jazz album "Chances," which included a co-write with Ron Sexsmith. The album was highly acclaimed and won many music awards, including the Juno Awards.Since then, he has consistently released "Mischievous Moon" in 2011, "Chansons" in 2013, "Fool's Gold" in 2014, "The Family Album", a collaboration with his brother Matthew in 2016, and "Metaphora" in 2018, each time She has won various music awards. Now one of Canada's leading female jazz and folk singers, she visited Japan in 2015. Her latest work is "Entre Nou," which is entirely in French in 2020.
