Description:
During the German Baroque period, we seek the origin of the great river of keyboard music leading to J.S. Bach in the three northern German composers Buxtehude, Böhm, and Bruns. Bach admired the three composers and probably traveled to Lüneburg in northern Germany, where Böhm was organist, and to Lübeck to listen to Buxtehude's music when he was organist at Arnstadt. The essence of the diverse and fertile North German organ music can be heard through the unique sound of the famous Alp Schnittger organ built at that time and Shiina's meticulously designed performance.
