Riv-Nail R-5 1/2 Complete Splice Kit is a pre-assembled matched set of rivet hinged belt fastener plates with C-Size rivets and a 42-inch armored steel cable heavy duty hinge pin included in a bulk case of 1,050 sets. The R-5 1/2 fastener is rated to 800 PIW, fits belts 13/32 to 15/32 inch thick, and requires a minimum pulley diameter of 12 inches.

Rivets and hinge pin sold separately. Order R-51/2 size rivets (matching material) and a 1/4" steel cable hinge pin sized to your belt width to complete the splice.

Each fastener set includes the top and bottom plates plus the specified rivets and the heavy-duty armored hinge pin, ready to install without separately ordering components. The Armored Steel Cable Heavy Duty hinge pin is designed for extreme abrasion and high-tension applications where bare cable pins wear quickly.

Materials: Galvanized steel plates, zinc dichromate plated steel rivets, armored steel cable heavy duty hinge pin. Standard material for main-line heavy-duty conveyors in mining, aggregate, cement, and recycling operations.

Applications: Surface and underground coal mining, hard rock mining (copper, iron ore, potash, gold, salt), aggregate and quarry plants, cement plants, stacker-reclaimer belts at ports and terminals, and any heavy-duty main-line belt operating above 500 PIW where splice longevity matters more than installation time.

Direct Flexco equivalent: Riv-Nail R-5 1/2 is the direct equivalent to Flexco SR R5 1/2 Rivet Hinged at matching size numbers. Cross-reference charts available.

Installation: Rivets install with MATO RNAT manual driver, MRNAT multi-rivet driver, RNAPD air-powered driver, or RNBH-1 battery hammer. Typical installation time is 45 to 90 minutes per splice versus 4 to 8 hours for vulcanized splicing. Armored and heavy-duty pins require appropriate pin cutters and threading tools.
