Description:
The youngest of the Kuijken brothers, who have led the world scene of ancient instrumental music since the late 20th century, Belgian virtuoso Barthold Kuijken, who in recent years has been deepening his relationship with orchestras around the world, has recently joined forces with the Indianapolis Baroque Orchestra, the foremost ancient instrument group in the United States. He has also been steadily releasing recordings on NAXOS. This time, however, the works of Telemann are not just a collection of miscellaneous works by this composer, but a variety of works from his early to late periods, so that we can see the breadth of his style and the changes in his activities over more than half a century. The collection includes a variety of works from the early to the late periods of the composer's career. The "Sinfonia Melodica," written shortly before his death, is a rare gem that is both the culmination of his style and a new vision. The other pieces on the disc are also in different compositional styles, and the deeper you listen to them, the more you will realize the seriousness of the musicians. The Indianapolis Baroque Orchestra's tight compositions and the unwavering performance expression also showcase Barthold Kuijken's talent, which has deepened not only as a soloist but also as a conductor. The commentary is written by the conductor himself. Naxos Japan
