This is a 6x6” oil painting on a gallery thick, 1.5” birch wood panel, installed in a 7x7x2" (18x18x5 cm) baltic ash float frame. Seen from above through the gaze of a ravenous girl who did not feel like cooking, the scene features an array of snacks pilfered from various corners of the kitchen that will constitute her dinner for the evening, likely involving additional helpings to fend off starvation.
A signature look of my work is how the painting wraps around the edges of the panel by a 1/2”, the remaining depth was left the blonde birch wood. The entire piece, painted edges included, is coated in a satin varnish.
