"Up until a few weeks ago, I honestly had no idea that we had an endemic species of pangolin in the Philippines. The only reason why I discovered it was because of Pandi the Pangolin, a stray (most likely illegally owned) pangolin that got rescued from our village in the suburbs of Manila.
Obviously, the discovery of the pangolin in our neighborhood was a surprise, considering that its native habitat comprises the rain forests of Palawan.
Pandi has since been rescued and safely transported to a sanctuary somewhere in Palawan where such “balintong” (local name for the Philippine Pangolin) belongs."
The phrase 'Pandi ang Palawan Pangolin' translates to 'Pandi the Palawan Pangolin.
