This is a collection of masterpieces by Laura Bobesco (1921-2003), a female violinist from Romania. She studied at the Ecole Normale de Musique in Paris and then at the Paris Conservatory, where she studied with Jorge Enescu and Jacques Thibaud. After World War II, he became a naturalized Belgian citizen and became active internationally, teaching young musicians and organizing the Brussels Solisten (later renamed the Ysaye String Ensemble), for which he is known as a conductor and soloist. Since his first visit to Japan in 1980, he has made frequent visits to Japan, winning many fans. This 3-CD set includes concertos from the Baroque and Romantic periods, including a performance of a piece that is being presented here for the first time, and her beautiful sound, characterized by a generous vibrato and graceful expression, is sure to capture the hearts of listeners throughout the ages.
