Mario Brunello is an Italian virtuoso who has been active worldwide as a regular cellist. In recent years, he has been playing the small cello (4-string cello piccolo = an instrument tuned exactly one octave lower than the violin), which was used in the Baroque period, in period technique, and performing violin works according to the custom of the time, such as Bach's unaccompanied works and six complete duet sonatas recorded with ARCANA. He has been performing more and more violin works in accordance with the customs of the time.
