Description:
Among Richard's songs recreated with new arrangements and approaches, it was especially moving for him to see "Bittersweet Symphony," one of The Verve's most popular songs, reborn 25 years after its creation. The acoustic version of "C'mon People (We're Making It Now)," a duet with old friend Liam Gallagher, is also sure to be a big hit. Since the original version was released in 2000, the two have often spoken of their desire to record and perform the song together, and now their wish has finally come true. The optimistic feeling of the new version is a direct result of the energy and joy they felt during the recording sessions. In a new version of "Velvet Morning" from The Verve's "Urban Hymns," Richard recorded his vocals using a megaphone he bought at a trunk sale the day before recording. The song's power is brought out to its fullest extent. A big surprise for fans will be the inclusion of an acoustic version of "This Thing Called Life," a song Richard has rarely performed live. Originally recorded with No I.D. in the U.S. for the soul-tinged RPA & The United Nations Of Sound project, the new acoustic version of "This Thing Called Life" has a different appeal. This time, a new acoustic version of the song has been arranged to give it a different appeal. ACOUSTIC HYMNS VOL.1" is an acoustic album in which Richard Ashcroft delves into the new appeal of his own songs. (2/2)
