This exquisitely handcrafted Sheesham wood traditional Indian spice box is made by artisans in Saharanpur & Nagina, two small towns in India with a grand legacy of woodworking. 

Known by various regional names — lakadiyu or masaliyu in Gujrati, anjarai petti in Tamil, loonki in Punjabi, masala dani or namak dani in Hindi, the masala dabba is at the heart of an Indian kitchen.

The wooden masala box comes with 9 removable compartments to store all your spices with a lift-up transparent high-quality glass lid. A wooden spoon is included.

Besides using them as traditional spice organizers, our customers have also been creative, using them to store mukhwas (Indian mouth fresheners), tea bags, as jewellery boxes, or as a piece of home decor to store curios and knick-knacks.
