In 1989, the 100th anniversary of Neumann's birth, "Songs of Joy" resounded in the immediate aftermath of the democratic revolution! In November 1989, a group of people called the Citizens' Forum led the "Velvet Revolution" demanding democracy in the Czech Republic. One month later, this venue was filled with the excitement of people wearing the Citizens Forum's symbolic peace badge. The Ninth Symphony, which sings of love and freedom for mankind, could not have been better suited to the occasion. The Ninth Symphony is a special performance of the Ninth Symphony that is different and more moving than the usual performance.
