According to the liner notes, Jazz Sabbath was a jazz trio formed in 1968. This self-titled debut album should have been released in 1970, but disaster struck when bandleader Milton Keanes suffered a massive heart attack and the label decided to cancel the release. Shortly after, a fire destroyed the label warehouse, erasing the album from existence. Upon his release from hospital many months later, Milton found out that a band from Birmingham, conveniently called 'Black Sabbath', had since released two albums containing metal versions of what he claims were his songs. With the recently discovered master tapes remixed, Milton set out to prove that the heavy metal band worshipped by millions around the world are in fact nothing more than musical charlatans, thieving the music from a bedridden, hospitalized genius. In truth; longtime Black Sabbath/Ozzy Osbourne keys and guitar player Adam Wakeman (as Milton Keanes), together with six other top musicians who only go by their ‘60s pseudonyms as well, delivered an album of Sabbath songs, reimagined as classic jazz tracks that surprised both the metal and the jazz critics (in a good way). Now for the first time on vinyl, Jazz Sabbath comes to record stores on a limited translucent blue vinyl edition, in MONO 'as originally intended in 1969’. (With a bonus track AND a bonus DVD!)
