The light-weight, USB-powered preamplifier for EEG/EMG in rats connects to the skull with rat headmount and screws with wire leads. Preamplification of the signal at the head provides the cleanest data possible. It is typically combined with a data conditioning and acquisition system (8206), but can also be powered by our analog adapter (8242) if you wish to use it with an existing data acquisition system.
Preamplifiers for the three-channel system come in multiple configurations:
- SL: 2 EEG/1 EMG for Sleep
- SE: 2 EEG/1 EMG for Seizure
- SE3: 3 EEG for Seizure
- KIN: Kindling
The SL configuration has EEG channels with 0.5 Hz high-pass filters; the other configurations have EEG channels with 1.0 Hz high-pass filters.
The preamplifier suffix must match the suffix of the 8206 data conditioning and acquisition system.
