It has been four years since their last album, "Reflector," debuted at #1 in both the US and the UK. In the meantime, Arcadia Fire has continued to receive worldwide acclaim and has established a solid position in Japan as well, including being nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Score for their work on the soundtrack to their friend Spike Jonze's hit movie "Her" and being the first headliner at the Fuji Rock Festival in 2002. Arcades Fire has also established a strong position in Japan. The band's last album featured the talented James Murphy (LCD Soundsystem) as a producer, and the late David Bowie, with whom the band had a close relationship, as a guest performer. The band's first album, "Daft Punk", will be produced by the band itself, Thomas Bangalter of Daft Punk, Steve McKee of Pulp, and co-produced by Marcus Dravs, who has worked on their last three albums as well as Bjork and Coldplay.
