Takashi Asahina (conductor) / Osaka Philharmonic Orchestra
Description:
Performance time of 53 minutes... Miraculous sound soul! Along with Beethoven and Bruckner, Asahina put the most effort into his Brahms performances. Asahina performed the "Brahms Ticles" three times in Tokyo. The first performance in 1990 and the third in 2000 with the New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra are already available on CD (FOCD9206). (FOCD9206) The Symphony No. 1 in this recording was performed in 1996, the year of the "Second Ticles," with the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, and the New Japan Philharmonic conducted from April to June. In 1996, when he was 87-88 years old, Asahina was extremely busy. After the second performance of the TWICLES with the New Japan Philharmonic, he went to the U.S. to perform Bruckner No. 5 with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and soon after his return to Japan, he performed with the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra. Soon after his return to Japan, he gave the third performance of the TWT with the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, and in October of the same year, he appeared again with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. The Brahms in this recording was performed just before he reached his last years, when he pursued the beauty of balance and balance in his playing style. The performance lasts 53 minutes, and the overwhelmingly miraculous sound and spirit can only be described by the exclamation, "This is a performance by the great Asahina. <This is a new masterpiece to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Asahina's birth.
