Toyoshima Yasushi
Description:
Violinist Yasutsugu Toyoshima, while serving as solo concertmaster of the New Japan Philharmonic, performs with orchestras in Japan and abroad as a soloist, and is also active widely as a chamber musician. In the year of the 300th anniversary of his beloved Stradivarius, he released a J.S. Bach album. The album includes the "Sonatas for Violin and Harpsichord (6 pieces in all)," which is considered one of the most important masterpieces in the history of music by J.S. Bach, for its free and generous originality among his violin works. The disc features a gorgeous collaboration between the two musicians. (C)RS
