Oxy Cleanze – Rust & Oxidation Stain Remover

Oxy Cleanze is a powerful yet safer gel cleaner that removes rust and other oxidation stains from a wide range of smooth, non-porous surfaces. Unlike harsh acids such as hydrochloric ("brick acid") or sulphuric acid, its active ingredient is gentler on people, animals, and the environment.

Suitable for Use On

• Lead, uPVC & PVC

• Most plastics

• Painted surfaces (including sand/cement render & pre-coloured render)

• Cladding

• GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic), including boats

• Steel (including stainless steel) & cast iron

• Wood

• Most renders*

• Brickwork & masonry

• Limescale deposits on window glass

Application Methods

• Brush: Quick and effective – a wide 4–6 inch brush works best.

• Roller: Can be used, but take extra care to avoid splatter.

• Contact Time: Allow Oxy Cleanze to penetrate the stain for 30minutes. Do not allow the gel to dry within this time. If there is still staining after 30minutes agitate the gel with a brush and allow another 20 - 30 minutes dwell time. Then rinse with high pressure. 

PPE Guidance:

• At minimum: wear chemical-resistant gloves and wrap-around eye protection.

• Cover all exposed skin.

• We strongly recommend a full face mask that also protects hair.

Quick Tip: For best results, apply in cool conditions (e.g., early morning or late afternoon in summer) to minimise boil-off.

Important Notes

• Test first: Always test on a small, inconspicuous area before full application, especially on renders, as formulations vary.

• Not suitable for: Copper oxide stains, stone, concrete, or unpainted cement-based surfaces.

• Slate: May leave a temporary white residue – this can be rinsed away with gentle brushing.

• Concrete & surrounding areas: Prevent spills on concrete and stone. Any accidental marks should be rinsed off immediately; discolouration usually fades naturally over time.

As a Rust Killer

For steel and cast iron, Oxy Cleanze works effectively as a rust treatment. For best results:

1. Remove loose rust with a wire brush or scraper.

2. Apply Oxy Cleanze to the affected area.

3. Once treated, protect surfaces with a rust-preventive paint such as Hammerite.
