The first recording of the original piano version of this ballet full of Spanish emotion! The ballet "A Night at the Festival de San Juan" was conceived by Spanish composer Roberto Gerard and inspired by the success of Falla's ballet works and the popularity of Spain and its dances in Europe. The work was based on the San Juan Festival in the vicinity of Barcelona and the Catalan Fire Festival, and the piano sketches were completed during the Spanish Civil War, while the orchestral score was being written in 1938. Ventura Gasol, who wrote the script, changed the title to "Barcelona's Night Party" at this point to make it more internationally recognizable. However, in the chaos that followed the civil war, plans for the production were scrapped and it was never realized. In June 2021, the original ballet "The Night of the Festival de San Juan" will be performed in the United States.
