ABOUT THE ARTISANS

This piece of jewelry was handcrafted by skilled artisans in a fair trade cooperative in Peru.  The artisans have full participation in the organization's decision-making process, and receive health care, loan funds and advances, training programs and technical assistance.  School supplies and books are also provided for their children.  The artisans live in impoverished areas all over Peru.  They use traditional techniques combined with contemporary designs, to create gorgeous jewelry.
