Each ESV B-Ionic Calcium Buffer System has two components - Alkalinity and Calcium. When used in equal parts, easily maintain calcium and alkalinity levels with no mixing of powders, disruption of ionic balance or addition of organic chemicals. Formulated to provide all the proper ratios to duplicate the composition of synthetic seawater.

With use, can help restore ions lost from protein skimming and help maintain the ionic balance of the aquarium water.

The recommended starting dose is 1 mL of each component per 4 gallons of aquarium capacity per day. Test calcium and alkalinity frequently until the correct dosing amount is achieved to keep both elements stable from day to day. Each tank will be different and depends on many different variables will determine how much your tank will need to be dosed on a daily basis.

Note: ESV B-Ionic Calcium Buffer System comes as a concentrate in some sizes. Those do require being topped off with RODI water and sitting until the solution is fully dissolved. It is common for the solution to become a hard clear or white mass, but it will dissolve once the container is topped off.
