André de Flote is one of Belgium's most famous pianists and has taught at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, many master classes in France, Germany, Spain, and Japan, as well as at Arizona State University and Indiana University Bloomington in the U.S. He also served as a jury for the Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition. André De Flote is a renowned teacher who has been active as a jury member of the Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition. Following the well-received "The Complete Beethoven Piano Sonatas (KTC1676)" and "A Life in Music (KTC1677)," this recording of Shostakovich with the famous Belgian cellist Viviane Spanoge, who is also de Flote's wife, is reissued on the Et cetera label. De Flote and Spanoge perform Shostakovich's Cello Sonata and a cello version of the Viola Sonata arranged by Daniil Shafran, and the two cello concertos are conducted by Bulgarian conductor & double bassist Emil Tabakov and performed by the Sofia Soloists' Symphony Orchestra.
