This registration can be assigned to your vehicle for you so you just have to stick a set of plates onto your vehicle and let your insurance company know about the change. 

If you do not want the registration assigned to a vehicle yet, it can be sent out to you and held on a registration retention certificate.

There is no immediate deadline to carry out the assignment to a vehicle. The registration can sit on a registration certificate for up to 10 years. Instructions to carry out the assignment process will be sent out with the registration certificate. 

Both the £80 registration assignment fee and any applicable VAT are included within the price.

The assignment fee is pre-paid whether the assignment is carried out to your vehicle or not. 

If you intend to hold the registration on a certificate for a period of time before assigning it to a vehicle, the certificate will show that the assignment fee has already been paid in advance.

There will be nothing more to pay when you come to assign it to your vehicle.
