The most shocking since the Opus Collection! PER ASPERA AD ASTRA 2020 (Beyond Difficulties to Glory) in the Beethoven Year Weingartner World's First Beethoven: The Complete Symphonies + Overtures 2020 Reproduced and mastered in superb sound quality, now available on high quality UHQCD! From the reissue engineer Akira A Fukushima. Weingartner's Beethoven: The Complete Symphonies is a masterpiece recording by the master. Although it is preferable to listen to it directly on SP, I was impressed by the sound quality of the CDs released by Opus Kura several years ago, which were more than enough. I believed that the nine pieces would be reissued as they were. However, it is regrettable that only four pieces were performed with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. This year is the 250th anniversary of Beethoven's birth, and as there is no complete Beethoven cycle with satisfactory sound quality, I thought it would be meaningful to try to reissue the complete works again, so I started the work. The original recording is a masterpiece, and if you listen carefully, you can hear moderate reverberation, and once again I take my hat off to the high technology of the time.Weingartner was a conductor who created Beethoven music that emphasized a fluid flow without stagnation, which was also shared by Kleiber in his later years. Weingartner's Beethoven after Weingartner can be roughly divided into two types: agile performances with a fast, streamlined style and profound performances with a solemn tempo. The performances outside of the Vienna Philharmonic are also splendid. Even when the London orchestra is played, they bring out the Viennese emotion, and the charming woodwind and sensual portamento are thrilling. The master wished to re-record the "Denen" but his wish was not granted, so the old recording from 1927 (a project to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Beethoven's death!) The recording was made in 1927 (a project to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Beethoven's death! The reproduction of the 80 rpm recording was a trial-and-error process. The master recordings used are listed separately. Simply put, Japanese recordings tend to have less noise, but the sound line tends to be thin. The British, American, and French recordings have an appealing power. This is a major concern when it comes to master selection. We cannot say which country's disc is the best, and this is the result of obtaining the appropriate disc for each song. All the recordings have been cleaned with the latest equipment and reproduced with our own modified cartridges, avoiding unnecessary equalization. This year, the whole world is suffering from the new coronavirus, but it is not a waste of time to enjoy Weingartner's masterpieces with Beethoven's spirit in mind, "Per asperera ad astra" (go beyond difficulties and reach glory). The liner notes are excerpts from Weingartner's own famous book "On Performing Beethoven's Symphonies" and a new translation. Furthermore, we took the time to reissue the overture and excerpts from the dramatic music, as we felt that not including them would be the finishing touch, and we were fortunate to be able to obtain a disc of good quality. The most splendid pieces are "Egmont," "Leonore," and "Prometheus. The "Eleven Viennese Dances," which is said to be a fake, are also performed in a sophisticated manner that cannot be imitated by anyone else. Muse Trade
