Carla Majors, real name Carla Majors, made her debut as a solo singer on the New York City live scene around 1972 under the stage name "Mirabai". Her only solo recording was made in Nashville with Bob Johnston as producer, Don Nix as arranger, and Richard Tee (p), Ron Cornelius (g), Jeannie Green (vo), and others as backing. The album is a rare combination of her earthy and spiritual vocals that convey the complex backbone of 60's psychedelic/blues/folk music and first-class swamp rock production. (C)RS
