Steel armor presents a fragmentation risk on bullet impact. The Standard Coating provides corrosion protection only. It accepts Caliber Armor AR550 plates in 10x12 and 11x14, as well as any other ESAPI-profile plates up to 10.25x13.25 inches. The cummerbund adjusts from 40 to 48 inches (measured around the navel) and includes built-in soft armor pockets compatible with CaliberX IIIA soft armor side panels — a lighter-weight alternative to hard side plates. If you choose to run hard side plates, the VAS Side Plate Inserts are required and sold separately.

The MOPC Gen II does not include integrated side plate pockets. The carrier accepts either the full cummerbund configuration or an internal waist strap for a reduced-profile setup.
