All of us, kids and adults, have fears and anxieties. Some of our fears are irrational, but some seem completely justified. Whatever our fears, God commands us “do not be afraid” and to put our trust in Him.

Fear Not Children's Ministry Curriculum Lesson Overview

Lessons:

You're Not Alone 
Lesson: We often worry that we are on our own, or that others will leave us. But God assures us that he will never leave us. 
Scripture: 1 Kings 19:3-18, The Lord Appears to Elijah
Objective: Kids will learn, “with God, I am never alone”.

Afraid Of The Dark
Darkness can make everything seem scarier.  And it’s not always just physical darkness. The fear of the unknown, the fear of the future can often feel overwhelming. But God reminds us that Jesus is the light that shines in the darkness. When we bring our fears to God and trust Him to light our path, He shows us there is nothing to fear. 
Scripture: John 1:1-14, The Word Became Flesh
Objective: Kids will learn that when we trust God, we don’t have to fear the unknown.

Scary News
In our broken world we are often confronted with bad news. Hearing bad news can be scary.  Sometimes, worrying that we are going to hear bad news can be just as scary. But the Bible reminds us that God is with us and has promised to lead us to good places where we can find rest and comfort. 
Scripture: Psalm 23, The Lord is My Shepherd
Objective: Kids will learn, “if I put my trust in God, I don’t have to be afraid of bad news, because God is with me always.”

Fear Not 
We might have a whole list of fears and worries. But God tells us that if we have put our hope in Him, we have nothing to worry about. We can trust that God loves us and cares for us and so we don’t have to be afraid.
Scripture: Matthew 6:25-34, Do Not Worry, 1 John 4:18 Perfect Love Drives Out Fear
Objective: Kids will learn that we can always call out to God in prayer anytime we are afraid.
