Lovely Danish vintage mid century John Lauritzen sterling silver leaf and rose  brooch. The brooch has the maker's mark John L for John Lauritzen and sterling Denmark stamped on the back. An elegant and timeless piece of jewellery.

John Lauritzen was one of Denmark's highly regarded silversmiths. Born in 1900 he opened his first workshop in Copenhagen in 1950 where he worked until the early 1980's. Mainly working in sterling silver he produced work in the art nouveau and modernist style often taking inspiration from nature. His use of high quality materials and beautiful workmanship make his pieces very collectible and sought after today.

No longer confined to your Grandmother's jewellery box brooches are now having a massive comeback and are a great way to add some individual style to your outfit. Add them to your jacket, skirt, bag or scarf to instantly update your style.
