Our Armor Plates are designed to protect the transducer from side to side as well as front and back impact. They are designed as an added attachment to our SBB-5 Spring Back Bracket for all around transducer protection. The transducer is large and heavy and we highly recommend adding a Spring Back Bracket to your order. If an Armor Plate breaks that has been attached to the boat without a Spring Back Bracket it has no warranty whatsoever. If the Armor Plate is installed anywhere other than on the transom, for example on the set back wall, some shimming may be required if the transducer angle needs to be adjusted. If you know that you are installing the Armor Plate on a 90 Degree surface.
