This book features the pastillas de leche pabalat (wrapper) heirloom designs of the Ramos family in San Miguel de Mayumo, Bulacan. The pabalat is a product of the traditional art of making cutout wrappers using Japanese paper with varying colors. However, it is now considered a vanishing art. By documenting the pabalat designs and collection of the Ramos family, the author hopes to renew the awareness and appreciation for the art. Ultimately, the book hopes to serve as a catalyst to revitalize efforts by various stakeholders, including the government, toward its preservation and promotion.
