The 2024 release of Kilkerran Heavily Peated from Campbeltown's Glengyle Distillery is a blend of 90% ex-bourbon cask matured malt and 10% ex-sherry cask matured malt bottled without chill filtration or color added at 115.6 proof.  The nose opens with strong smoke and briny peat up front and notes of shortbread, vanilla cream, coconut, and light banana underneath.  The palate brings flavors of tropical fruit with mango and coconut, followed by citrus, honey, caramel, and charred oak.  The finish is long with peat smoke, some black pepper, and honeyed fruit.
