Vacha Calamus: A main herb for the throat chakra and Thyroid that frees Wisdom ‘Vak,’ (which is Saraswati in the Visuddha Chakra,) thus enabling the Voice of the Wise Feminine (in both men and women of course)  while also supporting cognitive function.  

It is traditional (I have noticed quite famous yoga and ayurveda teachers doing this) to put some Calamus oil on the throat or chew a little piece of Calamus when one needs to speak clearly and with Flow to larger audience.  

Vach is the oldest monocot on the planet.

Calamus in Hebrew is 'Kaneh' and is mentioned in Exodus 30:23 as one of the ingredients in the holy anointing oil.
