A fully differential design

Mark Levinson's No 631 monoblock power amplifier is a fully differential design that actively works to keep the signal clean and stable from input to output.

This gives you:

• Lower noise floor
• Better dynamics and calm in the soundstage
• More precise reproduction, especially in complex passages

The clean signal is due to the Pure Path signal architecture, which carries the signal in balanced form through the entire amplifier.

The signal path is built as a true differential architecture from input to output. In short, this means that the signal runs in two mirrored paths and you get an amplifier that:

CLASS A/AB WITH HIGH BIAS

At higher loads, it delivers Class AB efficiency with high current capacity and thermal stability.

HIGH-CAPACITY POWER SUPPLY

A large toroidal transformer and linear power supply deliver constant voltage and high current reserves. The design is dimensioned to handle demanding speakers without voltage drop.

The power supply section is physically isolated from the signal section to minimize interference.

CLEAN AND STABLE SIGNAL WITH PURE PATH ARCHITECTURE 

The Pure Path design carries the signal along the shortest possible path. This limits how much the components affect the signal. The circuit keeps capacitance low and preserves stable phase.

The advanced cabinet separates power and signal into their own sections, while the chassis is optimized to reduce mechanical influence.
