Constructed from 3/16" carbon steel with grade-5 hardware and a reinforced sliding steel door, this shelter eliminates the common failures of traditional hinged designs. Its space-saving sliding door cannot be blocked by debris and locks securely in seconds using a single, intuitive handle. Multiple locking pins including an internal-only security pin ensure no external force can compromise the door once secured.

Tested at the National Wind Institute at Texas Tech, this Swisher ESP model has withstood direct impacts equal to EF5 tornado conditions, including nine strikes from 15-lb 2×4 projectiles at 100 mph. Every unit meets FEMA 320, FEMA 361, and ICC-500-2014 standards when installed per guidelines.
