This portrait, titled Mirada, is a tribute to Frida Kahlo—not just the icon, but the woman behind the myth.

I painted her in black and white because her intensity doesn’t need color. It’s all in her eyes—strong, defiant, vulnerable. The brushstrokes are raw and direct, just like her presence. The shadows frame her, but never dim her. She looks straight at you, asking nothing, demanding everything.

With Mirada, I wanted to capture not just her image, but her spirit—the unwavering gaze of someone who transformed pain into power and art.
