Fabrics: Annabel Lee was created with individually bound pockets of rose and crimson taffeta and satin with accents of coordinating printed cotton. The back can be either silk taffeta or printed cotton. The whole piece is bound in white petersham and finished with silk ribbon. 

In the 18th century, the item called a housewife (“hussif”) is one that had multiple uses. It could be a container for small personal items, a wallet, a sewing kit, or a combination of these. This housewife kit is a simple design based on period examples.
