The Stobart Group is proudly sponsoring the Great British Jockeys Championship from the world of flat racing. To celebrate, the Group has unveiled a ten-strong fleet of signature trucks, each featuring a top jockey from the weighing-in room in an initiative that will not only strengthen the position of the Stobart Group as a brand synonymous with horse racing but will also promote jockeys and the sport up and down the country.
Here at Oxford, we are equally pleased to unveil the first model in the series, highly decorated and featuring one of the top ten flat racing jockeys from last year. First off from the start line is Richard Hughes, who retired this summer after 27 years in the saddle. He decided that his last races would be at Glorious Goodwood in August 2015, following which he is now concentrating on his new career as a trainer. Born in Ireland in 1973, Richard Hughes has been one of Britain's most popular jockeys. He was twice Champion Jockey in 2011 and 2013 and was British flat racing champion jockey from 2012-2014 inclusive. Retiring before the end of the 2015 season, he apologised to fans who had bet on him retaining the title once more!

Our colourful truck, one of the Stobart Group's Renewable Energy liveried vehicles and registered PX15 JHK, shows Richard riding in different racing silks on each side of the trailer with his name emblazoned in green, while on the rear there is an image of him with arm raised in triumphant pose after coming first past the post! The model is presented in specially themed packaging. We are betting that this wonderful series of trucks will be an odds-on favourite on the Christmas gift list of not only Stobart fans but also flat racing buffs as well!
