A Boiler Suit is always cool. There’s a subversiveness to a woman wearing such a utilitarian garment that I really love. But I wanted to play with that idea in a different direction… What if something that comfortable, that functional, that versatile, was, well, a bit fancy?

& Here’s the result! A strong statement piece with clean, elevated looks and relaxed, deconstructed feels.

It took a long time, with many iterations back and forth between my studio, Makers, Patternmaker, friends of different size, shape and height - to nail the fit and features that set it apart from other Boiler Suits. It’s cool with an edge, but more elevated than industrial – pared back, so it’s the simplicity that makes the statement. 

Customise to suit your body shape or mood. It’s intentionally generous and the tie draws the waist in as much or as little as you like. Cinch it firmly and blouse the top section over, to create gathers over the tummy and define the waist. Knot it a little looser for a hint at the silhouette. Or tie it at the back, whether loose or firm, for a flat front and streamlined look. It is stitched in place so whatever you decide, it won’t budge or get lost in the washing! Play with turning the sleeves or hems up or down to your liking too. It’s all about your own personal preference!

• Front opening with antique brass studs
• Belt can be tied front or back. Stitched into place at the back so it won’t slide out of position.
• Wide sleeve that can be left down or tuned up. Plenty of room for a fitted long sleeve underneath.
• Bust darts for shaping and comfort.
• Ankle length leg suits various shoes from a simple slide to sneakers or chunky boots
• Deep centre seam accommodates different height/torso length and prevents riding up
• Pockets in the side seam

Handmade ethically by a small local business in Marrickville. 

100% organic cotton to Oeko-Tex 100 standard. Medium weight with a tight weave and smooth untextured finish. It has good body/structure rather that being flowy and a magical ability not to get very crushed!

Gentle cold machine wash inside using mild phosphate free detergent, loosely tie the waist ties so they don't get caught/pulled. Line dry on a coat hanger. No need to iron but a steamer or hot iron inside out is fine if you wish. 

HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR SIZE

These are true to size, consistent with our brand, select your usual size. If you have one our jumpsuits you can select the same size, even though this is a much looser design. 

There’s often confusion about what size to buy a jumpsuit as they are essentially a top and bottom combined into one garment! But because this does not have a fixed waist and is roomy throughout - the bust, waist, bum and thighs are generous - you will fit this regardless if you are top or bottom heavy or widest through the middle.

First model is tall with small bust and long limbs wearing size 12 tied to the front. Second model is average height, curvy, wearing 14 tied to the front. Third model is average height, size 12 with a bigger bust, wearing size 12 in the petrol colour, tied at the back.
