We are delighted to offer for sale this charming Jaeger-LeCoultre dress watch, dating from circa 1953, housed in a 9ct yellow gold Dennison case. Dennison was a renowned British case maker that supplied high-quality gold cases for many Swiss brands during this period to comply with UK import regulations, making these watches an interesting part of horological history. The case features elegant fancy lugs and carries the Birmingham hallmark with a “C” stamp for 1952–53.

The golden dial is particularly striking, showing a rich, even patina that gives it a warm, almost tropical character. This natural ageing process is highly prized by collectors and adds a unique personality to the watch. The applied Arabic numerals and slender gold hands are complemented by a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, completing the classic 1950s aesthetic.
