Vintage Bes-Ben Equestrian Hat Trotters Horses OOAK

This midcentury stunner from the Mad Milliner of Chicago Bes-Ben is truly a one of a kind piece. The "body" is all in a thick black mesh that conforms to the head and comes down the face if you place it so. The top is a series of black, embroidered trotters - a form of horse racing. They seem to be made out of black felt and feature detailed embroidery in peach, orange, cream, and lavender.
The scene of rider, horse, and carriage is placed across the front top while the rear (facing out from the back of the head) echoes the display with a single trotter tableau. Interior features the iconic " Bes-Ben Made in Chicago" label. Lightweight, it was likely held down by hat pins while sitting on top of a high, coiffed hairstyle.
