About the Photoshoot

Capturing "Ancient World" was a journey into the heart of Iceland's rugged wilderness, specifically Mulagljufur Canyon, a location that is deceptively close to the Ring Road 1 yet requires a significant effort to reach. The short distance from Iceland’s main highway belies the challenging trek that awaits.

The journey involves navigating unmarked paths, crossing narrow trails lined with overgrown bushes, and traversing loose, uneven rocks—all while carrying heavy camera equipment. The unpredictable Icelandic weather, particularly its infamous winds, demands that every shot be carefully planned, with a sturdy tripod being an indispensable tool.

On this particular day, I was met with a landscape that seemed to exist in two worlds at once. The vivid green moss carpeting the canyon contrasted surreally with the fresh snow blanketing the highest peaks. This dramatic juxtaposition, combined with the canyon's towering walls and the cascading waterfall, created a scene that felt almost primordial, as if I had stepped back in time to an untouched, ancient world.
