Earl Hooker
Description:
A collection of masterpieces from the Keuka era of the slide guitar virtuoso! Earl Hooker was trained by Robert Nighthawk, a master of the slide guitar, and his prodigious guitar playing shines brilliantly in Chicago Blues. John Lee Hooker is his cousin. He is also known as one of the first bluesmen to use the wah-wah pedal, and his wild sound on Muddy Waters' classic "You Shook Me" had a great influence on Led Zeppelin and later generations. This album contains many of the instrumental masterpieces he recorded for the Keuka label between 1964 and 1967. The album features Freddie Roulette on steel guitar on M-1 through M-3, as well as covers of classic songs such as M-4 and M-12, and other masterpieces that showcase his outstanding playing.
