Description:
Rich in color! Richard Strauss by Mikko FrankRichard Strauss with Mikko Frank and the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, of which he has been music director since 2015. The opening piece, "Burleske," is notable for the participation of Argentinean pianist Nelson Gellner. Gellner, who has a wide repertoire ranging from Classical to Chopin and contemporary music, and has a reputation for making the piano sound simply beautiful in every piece, and the hard and soft, crisp sound that Frank's stick brings out from the highly functional orchestra, sometimes clash violently and sometimes harmonize intimately to bring out the best in the piece. The "Bulleske" enhances the charm of the piece. The 14-piece orchestra with contrabass and contrabass sings the musicality of the young Strauss with freshness in "Serenade. Death and Transfiguration" beautifully depicts the work's intense scene development with dazzling colors and great exuberance, and the final section, which leads to the heights of redemption, is also blissfully beautiful. This is the second release of the joint project between ALPHA label and Radio France.
