Description:

The "Demonstrations" were created in 1977 by Claude Bessy, who was the director of the Paris Opera Ballet School from 1972 to 2004 after having made his name as an etoile of the Paris Opera Ballet. The Demonstration is a popular event held once a year at the Palais Garnier in Paris, where students of the Paris Opera Ballet School show the system and techniques of French ballet that have been passed down from teacher to student to the general public. The 2020 "Demonstration" was not held as a public event due to the Corona disaster, but was held as training for the event and was recorded on video. Ballet school students were divided into classes from division 6 (beginner class) to division 1 (highest class) and performed various pas (steps) and dances under the guidance of their teachers. The other documentary, "School of Dreams," consists of interviews with teachers and students of the Paris Opera Ballet School who appear in "Demonstrations" and lesson scenes, in which they talk about their passion for dance, their worries, and their hopes for the future.
