Capella de la Torre
Description:
With the theme of "The Four Elements," this is a new look at medieval and Renaissance music in a new context - a collection of works related to chi=air, including pieces from the highly acclaimed 2018 concert tour of Japan. Capella de la Torre is a German Renaissance instrumental wind ensemble specializing in medieval and Renaissance music, founded in 2005 by Munich-born shawm player Katharina Boiml and named after the 16th century Spanish composer Francisco de la Torre and the medieval minstrel who The name is a play on the 16th century Spanish composer Francisco de la Torre and the Spanish "de la Torre" (from the top of the tower), which is a reference to a medieval bard who played music from the top of a tower. With a formation almost identical to that of the actual musicians active in Nuremberg at the time, the group has earned a reputation as a professional group practicing historical performances, and has received the Opus Classics and Echo Classics awards. The group has previously presented works related to "water" and "fire," two of the "four elements" of the time. The entire album was also created as a "tale of flying creatures and the heavenly breeze": 1) is "Introduction"; 2-4) is "Gone with the Wind"; 5-7) is "Breath: God (Psalm 150) and Man (Last Sigh)"; 8-12) is "Winged Creatures"; 13-15) is "Whirlwinds: Zephyro and Laura/Laura" During the 15th and early 17th centuries, numerous instrumental and vocal works were composed around heavenly winds, myths, and winged creatures. Such works are selected from a fascinating array of works by composers such as Monteverdi, Pretorius, Ravenscroft, and Holborn, as well as by little-known composers. People of 500 years ago were not so different from people of today in terms of joy, anger, sorrow, and pleasure," said Katharina Boiml, the organizer of the festival, "but they also felt the same "air," "atmosphere," and "sighs. The wind instruments of the Renaissance era also make sounds with human "breath," and this is a most fascinating recording full of such discoveries, all of which are worth listening to. Sony Music
