He is currently the Music Director of the Utah Symphony Orchestra and has been the Principal Guest Conductor of the Seoul City Symphony Orchestra since 2017. He has been the Music Director of the Utah Symphony Orchestra since 2009, and his excellent skills have revitalized this great American orchestra, building a strong relationship with it, and his contract has been extended until 2022. Thierry Fischer, who returned to Hyperion with the Utah Symphony Orchestra and showed off his skills with a recording of Saint-Saëns' symphonies, now records Berlioz's "Symphonie fantastique" with the orchestra. He will fully demonstrate the French symphonic romanticism that is his forte. Three relatively rare pieces are also included in this recording, including "Dreams and Caprices," in which the famous Russian-American violinist Philip Quint takes a solo role. The Utah Symphony Chorus is joined by the University of Utah Chamber Choir for two songs that feature choral participation, creating wonderful harmonies.
